We are a global manufacturer with sites in three countries, designing and building bespoke, complex, hi-tech modular machinery which requires a wide range of internally manufactured and outsourced parts, operating under varied methods regarding KITS and KANBAN for both our stores and production operations.

For this role, we require a tenacious individual with experience of working in the supply chain, ideally in manufacturing, who can demonstrate effective negotiation skills. They must show a high level of accuracy and traceability to support all stakeholders with particular attention required for operations, stores, finance and compliance.

It is essential to gain an understanding of our company products, the build process, and standard kits to ensure continuous feed to production. They will be required to work closely with their purchasing team colleagues and team leaders across departments, to ensure they are up to date on shifting internal and external supply issues and deadlines, while showing the confidence to propose proactive methods to improve current activities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an established purchasing agent to build relationships with our external suppliers and internal customers and to implement improvements , making a real difference to the smooth operations within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchasing activity between third party suppliers
  • Supporting with accounts invoice queries and reconciliation
  • Supporting the expediting and scheduling function with the department
  • Assist in the process of facilitating change requirements between internally manufactured and outsourced assemblies
  • Work with the quality team to improve compliance from suppliers
  • Provide general administrative support for the purchasing department
  • Provide cover for other ad hoc purchasing requirements
  • Provide cover for other Purchasing Team member absences
  • Adopt 5s and Lean Philosophy
