The flytec 500 meets all label inspection requirements, from preinspection to finishing of single labels.
The flytec 500 uses digital drive technology. Operation of the machine is simple utilising easy-to-navigate menus and ergonomic function keys. The flytec 500 has two applications with the respective machine configurations:

Label rolls, foil or aluminium strips are subjected to a preinspection on the flytec 500. Here the web is monitored by the fleyeVision printface control system. Defects are detected and positioned in a splicer for removal by the operator, taught-in or ignored.

Unwinding and rewinding units are equipped with web edge control systems to guarantee that rolls are always perfectly wound. A comprehensive logging function of the inspection procedure is also available meeting the standards of pharmaceutical label inspection. The result is a fully inspected roll which can then be further processed on any conventional finishing machine.

For the finishing of labels the flytec 500 is fitted with a high-precision cutting blade or a razor blade unit. The entire cutting unit is mounted on a linear motion carriage and can be displaced by +/- 15mm in cross-web direction. The cutting blade unit includes our new quick-change system for the blade shafts. An offline adjustable knife setting system is available in which the blades can be set offline reducing set-up times. Also available is Flycut, our camera controlled automatic cutting system with a tolerance of cut 0.1 mm.

A web accumulator with a capacity of 5 metres is located upstream of the cutting unit. Printface inspection is provided by the fleyeVision systems.

On detection of a fault the machine slows down to a stop during which printface inspection continues. The defective label is stopped in the splicer before the cutting unit and the defect displayed on the monitor screen. Here the defect can be removed by the operator. If further faults are detected while the system is stopped these defective labels are taken one by one from the web accumulator to the splicer for correction as required. In this configuration there is no re-inspection of the correction. With these features the flytec 500 provides highly efficient printface inspection and finishing in a single pass, especially for standard label applications.
