Explaining the reasons behind the purchase, Gary Burnley of Marsh Labels said, "We are short run label printers specialising in all types of self adhesive labels. We made the move into digital label printing as we saw it as a process that our customers would benefit from in the future. The Digicon-Lite was an element of this investment working alongside our HP Indigo digital printer, all of which enable us to quickly produce high quality, short run labels."
"We are delighted to have been part of the investment programme at Marsh Labels," said Mark Hyde of AB Graphic International. "The Digicon-Lite was developed to meet simple digital label converting needs and was launched at Labelexpo Europe. The system includes 500mm (20in) unwind with automatic tension control, electronic web guide, full rotary flexographic coating station, UV curing, semi-rotary die cutting station, waste matrix removal and slitting. It can be supplied with a number of options, depending on the requirement."
Marsh Labels offers flexo, hot-foil, litho and digitally printed labels that can be supplied in roll, sheet or tractor fed formats. The company prides itself on providing fast turn-around on a wide range of substrates. A fully equipped studio provides customer assistance from simple bar-coding and label designs to more specialised security labelling requirements.
"The selection of the Digicon-lite was based mostly on reputation, especially as we were purchasing a prototype machine," added Burnley. "We were fully aware of the build quality from AB Graphic International and this was the main reason for making the purchase without initially seeing a finished machine. We have already noticed some very positive feedback on our initial printing, which is leading to new leads and quotes. The machine operators love the system. Its relative simplicity means that they can just get on with making labels with very little set-up and downtime."
