The Digicon HS provides
Phase 2 Labels with a wide range of label finishing and decorating
options that include die cutting, laminating, hot foil stamping
and sheeting. Commenting on the investment, Warren Werbitt,
President and CEO of Pazazz said, “Our clients were increasingly
requesting the option for short-run, flexible, colour printing – often
with variable data or personalisation. Not only did we
answer their call, but we also tracked down the finest equipment
the industry has to offer.”
Founded in 1992, Pazazz is a full-service independent printer
with offices in New York and Shanghai. Phase 2, Pazazz’s
label company specialises in flexographic and digital label production
and is the first label converter in Canada to purchase an Omega
Digicon HS that includes sheeting capability. Continues Werbitt; “We’re
excited to offer faster turnaround, superior colour quality and
more flexible packaging options on shrink sleeves, variable data
printing and a variety of other substrates. Besides offering
a competitive edge in marketing, digital label production is
the perfect complement to our current flexographic tools. Now
we have it all!”
Adds Al Spendlow, VP of A B Graphic International, “We
are delighted to have been the supplier of choice to Phase 2
Labels and in having supplied our first Digicon equipped with
sheeting capability in Canada. The new equipment combined
with the HP Indigo 4500 will enable them to produce a wide variety
of digitally produced labels with a fast turnaround in the high
quality markets they serve.”
The Omega Digicon uses flexible, servo driven tooling technology
optimised for minimising waste and set-up times and is capable
of running a wide range of materials. Depending on the
